Howard Sessions

06/2009

Howard Sessions has been a driving force behind the musical direction of retweak, the following list and commentry by Howard should give you a bit of an insight into what has influenced his style.

1.Doomwork - Lost In Memory - Aki Bergen Remix

Perfect for Sunday afternoon on the balcony. Chilled melodies with a driving beat, works wonders everytime.

2. Kris Wadsworth - Mainline - Original Mix

Sick yet warm and lovely, beauty yet the work of a fonk devil. A perfect groove as it were. The beats are as jackin as they come and the bass is just down right dirty.

3. Howard Sessions - Reversed Normality

My first offering on Retweak Records, I've heard it hundreds of times now but it still makes me move involuntarily. My addiction to synth meddling really shows on this track, big noises for a summer sound that I hope you'll enjoy.

4. Black Joy - Untitled Solid Groove Remix

Beatiful chords, fat beats, dreamy vocals, and a messed up camera shutter noise what more can you ask for.

5. 2020 Soundsystem - Falling - James Priestley & Dan Berkson - Shep Guitar Mix

It sounds so simple, yet so addictive. Beautiful production, as always from the 20/20 stable, the guitar lick is well and truely stuck in my brain.

6. Mendo - Trompeta - Original Mix

I can't work out if I love it or hate it, meanwhile i'm absolutely hooked, it's gonna be a hit on most dancefloors regardless of my indecision, grab it while it's hot.

7. In Sync - Everybody's Dancing - Static Home Mix

"THAT" original garage sound from back in the day. Lovin it, more please, lots and lots more like this!

8. D-t3ch - Reminiscing - Original Mix

There seems to be a 'back in the day' revival going on again and I love it, brilliant use of a certain "warehouse days of glory" sample. Sounds as fresh today as it did back then.

9. Mirco Violi - Caballo - Original Mix

Catchy sax loop over a real tribal groove, looking forward to playing this at the outdoor parties over the summer.

10. Chelonis R. Jones - Pompadour - Gorge Dub Mix

Not quiet feeling the breakdown but I absolutely love the other 99% of the track, wicked stabs and a groove that just drives, definately one to build the crowd.
